Empowering Young Learners: TKK PENABUR Gading Serpong's 6 Learning Zones
TKK PENABUR Gading Serpong has implemented an engaging concept of 6 learning zones, specially designed for children from Toddler, Playgroup, K1, to K2 levels. This innovative approach allows children to explore activities based on their interests, encouraging a joyful and active learning environment.
The 6 learning zones include the Life Skills Zone (fine motor skills), Literacy Zone, Numeracy Zone, Engineering Zone, Natural and Technological Exploration Zone, and Drama Zone. These zones foster holistic development, helping children to gain essential skills through hands-on experiences.
Teachers are crucial in facilitating exciting and fun activities within each zone, ensuring that learning happens through play. This playful approach fits each child's growth stage, turning learning into a fun adventure. Isn’t that something every child would love?
By implementing the 6 learning zones, TKK PENABUR Gading Serpong is committed to supporting children's personal growth in a fun, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate manner. Who wouldn’t want to be part of this amazing experience?

Dare to Care: Shaping Our Children’s Character with Parents and Teachers
At TKK PENABUR Gading Serpong, we know that building good character in children is not something we can do alone, right? That’s why with Dare to Care, we are inviting parents to be open about their hopes for their child’s character development. By working closely with teachers, we can ensure your child grows into the best version of themselves. Together, we can make it happen!
Teacher’s Perspective:
Ms. Lusni Sitanggang, one of our PG teachers, shared her experience with the Dare to Care action. She expressed her joy in seeing that her mission as a teacher aligns with the goals of the children’s parents. For Ms. Lusni, this is a dream come true. She believes that aligning the hopes of teachers and parents significantly supports the teaching process.
“When we communicate something about the child to the parents, they receive it well,” she says, “because we’re working toward the same goal.” She shared an example of a parent expressing gratitude because her child learned to apologize by herself after making a mistake.
Ms. Lusni highlights the importance of keeping parents updated on their child’s progress, usually by speaking with them during pick-up times after school. She makes sure to connect with parents, whether it’s giving praise or addressing any concerns.
She also stated that some parents are somewhat transparent about their expectations for their children, while others are more reserved. In those cases, Ms. Lusni initiates the conversation, and once the dialogue begins, parents are usually attentive. She strongly believes that effective communication between teachers and parents is key to supporting a child's development.
Parent’s Perspective:
Samantha’s Mom, Mrs. Gloria, the mother of a PG student, shared her thoughts on her daughter’s development. Her primary hope for Samantha is that she becomes more independent, confident, and able to socialize well during school activities. She emphasized that self-confidence is the most critical aspect of character development, as it allows Samantha to trust her abilities.
Mrs. Gloria also highlighted the importance of openness between parents and the school. According to her, the school plays an essential role in shaping Samantha’s character outside of the family setting. She appreciates the collaboration with TKK PENABUR Gading Serpong, trusting that the current learning programs align well with their character-building goals.
On working with teachers, Mrs. Gloria expressed her appreciation for the constant updates she receives about Samantha’s progress. She shared a touching moment when the teacher informed her that Samantha loves music and even comforts friends who cry. “Ini sangat membuat saya terharu dan bangga akan sikap yang dimiliki Samantha”, she continued.
She and the teacher communicate easily, mostly through social media, where they share stories about Samantha's day at school. However, one of the challenges Mrs. Gloria confronts is helping Samantha gain confidence in public and encouraging her to share her daily experiences. She appreciates the school's role in building Samantha’s independence and hopes for more updates.
Parent's Insights on Dare to Care
Dare to Care has shown wonderful results in shaping the children's character, but it wouldn’t be possible without the support of parents. We believe that parents play a key role in helping their children grow and develop, right? Curious to hear their honest opinions? Let’s take a closer look at how parents have seen their children grow through their time at TKK PENABUR Gading Serpong!
Kanaya’s mother’s POV:
Kanaya’s mother from the K2 class shared a touching story about how her daughter has learned to wait patiently in line and no longer grabs toys from other children. While this seems like a small action, it reflects a deeper development of empathy and patience that will serve her throughout her life.
Farrel’s mother’s POV:
Farrel's mother from the K2 class, for example, is overjoyed to see her son growing into a kind-hearted, joyful, and righteous child, aligned with Christian values. Isn’t that what we all hope for as parents?
Cheryl’s mother’s POV:
We also have a story from a different perspective, especially from Cheryl’s mother. She is a proud parent of a PG student and has high hopes for her daughter, wishing for Cheryl to continuously develop into a better person day by day. For her, the early years are crucial for learning manners, empathy, and independence. Isn’t it amazing to see children grasp these concepts at such a young age? Cheryl's mother also praised the school's TOMAT (Thank You, Help Me, Sorry) program, which helps the kids practice politeness and empathy with people around them.
Cheryl's mother emphasizes the significance of open communication with the school regarding her daughter's character development. And the changes? Cheryl is becoming more independent, responsible with her personal items, and quicker to follow instructions in a month! She’s even learning to tidy up her toys and put things back in their proper place. Isn’t that wonderful?
One of the biggest challenges Cheryl’s mother faces at home is getting Cheryl to listen and follow instructions. But with the school's help, Cheryl’s listening skills are improving day by day. This has been a huge help for her as a parent. "Semoga kedepannya Cheryl bisa terus belajar menjadi pribadi yang lebih baik," she expressed. Cheryl's mother values the teachers' supportive role in her daughter's development by stating, "Para guru di BPK PENABUR Gading Serpong sangat supportive, mereka menemani dan mendukung pasang surutnya perkembangan anak saya. Mereka dengan terbuka menerima setiap masukan dari para orang tua tetapi kembali memilah lagi sesuai dengan peraturan dan kebijakan sekolah".
"Terima kasih untuk para guru yang sudah menemani dan membimbing Cheryl setiap harinya. Semoga kami para orang tua dan guru bisa terus berdampingan serta bekerjasama dalam proses membangun karakter anak menjadi pribadi yang lebih baik. Tuhan Yesus memberkati!" she ended.
Building National Pride with P5 at TKK PENABUR Gading Serpong
Teaching kids about their country and building strong character are top priorities. Through the P5 Project, we help students understand important values from a young age!
What is P5?
P5 stands for Proyek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila. It’s a special project designed to teach kids key values from the Indonesian Pancasila. Through fun and creative activities, students learn about their culture and how to be good citizens. Pretty cool, isn't it?
What’s the Goal of P5?
The goal of P5 is simple—help students grow into responsible, independent, and creative individuals. Using Pancasila values, the project helps them appreciate their country, work together, and think for themselves. Who wouldn’t want that for their kids?
In P5, students develop six dimensions:
- Belief in God and Good Morals: To build strong character, kids learn about gratitude, respect, and kindness.
- Berkebhinekaan Global: We celebrate Indonesia’s many cultures, teaching kids to respect and appreciate differences.
- Bergotong Royong: Students learn to work together through teamwork to achieve shared goals.
- Independence: We encourage kids to think for themselves and take initiative in what they do.
- Critical Thinking: Students are taught to ask questions, solve problems, and reflect on their learning.
- Creativity: We nurture each child's imagination through art, design, and other creative activities.
Why Teach National Pride Early?
Teaching kids to love their country is more important than ever. It’s not just about patriotism, but about helping them understand who they are. When children know and feel proud of being Indonesians, they also appreciate their culture and traditions.
This sense of pride also teaches them about working together. When kids see how teamwork makes a stronger community, they feel more connected to others. It helps them not only in school but also prepares them to be good leaders in the future.
But national pride also encourages creativity! By learning more about Indonesia’s rich history, art, and diverse culture, children can find inspiration to create something new. Whether they are drawing, crafting, or solving problems, connecting with their Indonesian roots helps spark creativity in their daily lives. With strong national values and creativity, children will be ready to make a difference in their community.
So, why not start teaching national pride and creativity now? By doing so, we are helping build a bright, innovative, and united future for our children. Pretty amazing, isn’t it?

Puncak Gebyar P5: Collaboration of Children's Imagination and Creativity
Wow, have you ever seen children make a big impact? The kids at TKK PENABUR Gading Serpong did just that! They created something amazing through the P5 Project during the Puncak Gebyar P5, with the theme “My Imagination and Creativity." Curious to know more? Let’s check it out!
The goal of this project was to teach our young ones about helping others by doing fun and creative activities. And guess what? They did an amazing job! The money raised from P5 Project will go to help build the GKI Gading Serpong church. All the money, including from the auctions, will be used to buy building materials and cover other important costs. Isn’t that wonderful?
The project had two exciting fundraising events. First, we had a Closed Auction from September 14 to 17, 2024. Parents and friends placed online bids on special items made with love by our K2 students. Then, we held an Open Auction on September 18, 2024 at the TKK PENABUR Gading Serpong Hall, where people could bid on more creative works.
The best part? This project is not just about building a church; it’s also about building a stronger community. We are so thankful for everyone’s help. Together, we’re making a big difference!
But wait, there’s more! The K1 class also joined the Gebyar P5 fun by making awesome crafts like flower vases, piggy banks, and pencil holders. They showed their work in class, and some even made musical instruments like maracas and drums, which they used during singing time. Oh, and let’s not forget the cool fashion show where they showed off their batik bags!
And guess what? The PG class joined in too! They made fun keychains from playdough, animal masks, and macaroni bracelets and necklaces. What’s even sweeter? They shared their creations with their friends. Isn’t that heartwarming?
Even the Toddler class got creative! They made art with leaves and flowers, sticking them onto drawings of families. They added fun accessories like clothes and hair. At the end of Gebyar P5, they proudly showed their work to their classmates. This helped them learn to appreciate each other’s work.
Gebyar P5 was truly a celebration of creativity and helping others. Seeing how these small hands made such a big difference is so inspiring!
Toilet Training Tips and Tricks: Make It Easy for Your Little One!
Are you ready to help your child start toilet training? It might seem like a big task, but don’t worry! You’ve got this!
- Get Your Child Ready!
Before jumping into toilet training, preparing your child for the big step is important. Start by teaching them simple words like "pee," "poo," or "I need to go." Sounds easy, doesn’t it? You can also involve them during diaper changes by showing them where the waste goes into the toilet! This helps them connect the idea that the toilet is the right place for it.
Want another simple tip? Let them watch you or other family members use the toilet (trusted people only, of course!). Show them how it’s done, and they’ll start to understand the routine. And once they seem ready, try putting them in training pants once or twice a day. This helps them feel the difference between wet and dry.
- Daily Routine Is Your Best Friend
Consistency is key when it comes to toilet training! Start by introducing your child to the potty or toilet at regular times of the day after waking up, before meals, or whenever they show signs of needing to go. And don’t worry, you don’t have to force it! Just encourage them gently. - Positive Encouragement!
We all know how important praise can be. Celebrate every little success, even if they just sit on the potty without doing anything. You could say something like, “Wow, great job!” Start using encouraging words to make it even more exciting for them! Staying positive keeps the pressure off and makes the process smoother. - A Step-by-Step Routine
Toilet training is all about guiding your child through simple steps. Start by teaching them to grab some tissue, head to the toilet, and get ready. Show them how to pull down their pants and sit on the toilet. It’s that easy! Encourage them to pee or poop, then explain how to clean up using water or tissue.
But don’t stop there! Show them how to flush the toilet. Teach them the importance of washing hands with soap and water afterward. Keep repeating this routine, and soon enough, it will become a habit!.
- Stay Prepared!
Let’s be real… Going out during toilet training can be tricky, right? That’s why it’s always smart to have a plan. Be prepared for extra clothes! Find the nearest bathroom wherever you go, and keep a plastic bag handy for any wet clothes.
Toilet training may take some time, but with patience, consistency, and a lot of positive encouragement, your little one will be a pro in no time! Ready to start?
