Fostering Religious Tolerance at TKK PENABUR Gading Serpong
Religious tolerance means respecting and appreciating different beliefs and traditions. At TKK PENABUR Gading Serpong, we teach students to live in harmony with friends from diverse backgrounds.
In Indonesia, Ramadan is an important time when many Muslims observe fasting, or "puasa." Fasting during Ramadan means not eating or drinking from sunrise to sunset as an act of devotion and self-discipline. Even though our students do not fast, they learn about this special tradition and how to show kindness and respect to their Muslim friends. Through simple acts like speaking thoughtfully, offering encouragement, and being understanding, they help create a warm and respectful environment for everyone.
By understanding and respecting each other’s beliefs, children grow up to be compassionate and accepting members of society. Isn’t it wonderful when we live together in peace and unity?
Embracing Tolerance: Learning to Share with Everyone at TKK PENABUR Gading Serpong
At TKK PENABUR Gading Serpong, we believe that true kindness knows no boundaries. Teaching children to share, help, and care for others, regardless of differences, is an important part of their growth. Through daily interactions and activities, students learn that tolerance is not just about accepting others but also about showing love and respect in everything they do.
One of the simplest yet most powerful ways children practice tolerance is by sharing. Whether it is offering a toy to a friend or taking turns during playtime, these small acts teach students that kindness is for everyone. At school, students are encouraged to include everyone in their activities, making sure no one feels left out. Isn’t it wonderful to see children naturally building friendships without barriers?
Learning Through Everyday Actions
Tolerance is not just taught in lessons, it is lived out daily. Students greet one another with warm smiles, help friends who need assistance, and use polite words like “thank you” and “please.” They also learn to respect different opinions and celebrate each other’s unique backgrounds. By practicing these values in class and on the playground, they develop empathy and understanding that will stay with them for life.
A Culture of Kindness at School
Teachers and staff play a crucial role in fostering a culture of kindness and respect. Through stories, group discussions, and collaborative activities, children see that differences are something to appreciate rather than avoid. School traditions, such as praying together and celebrating cultural events, help strengthen the sense of unity among students. At TKK PENABUR Gading Serpong, students also learn cultural tolerance by getting to know songs from various regions of Indonesia and foreign languages, such as English and Mandarin songs.
How do you teach tolerance at home? Let’s nurture a generation that values kindness and respect for all!
Discovering Talented Voices at TKK PENABUR Gading Serpong

At TKK PENABUR Gading Serpong, we believe in celebrating the unique talents of every child. One area where our students truly shine is in vocal performance. After all, music is not just an art; it’s a powerful way to express emotions, build confidence, and develop a love for creativity.
In February, our vocal team proudly won a competition held by IGTKI Tangerang. It was such a joyful moment, showing just how much potential and passion our students have when they sing together.
We were also thrilled to celebrate another big achievement last year. Our vocal group, Voice of Angels, amazed us by winning First Place in the Kindergarten Category at the Penabur International Choir Festival 2024 (PICF 2024) and bringing home a Gold Medal.
What makes these achievements even more meaningful is the effort behind them. Under the guidance of their passionate coach, Ms. Stephanie Maria Widjaja, Voice of Angels trains regularly, especially before competitions. The group is made up of talented students from K1 and K2, and their teamwork and dedication are truly something to admire.
To support children who are interested in singing, TKK PENABUR Gading Serpong also offers a vocal extracurricular program that begins as early as Playgroup. Through this fun activity, children have more opportunities to explore their interest in music, develop vocal skills, and grow in confidence.
But singing isn’t just about winning trophies. At TKK PENABUR Gading Serpong, we see music as a joyful and meaningful part of learning. Through performances and classroom activities, children are encouraged to express themselves, discover their talents, and enjoy the beauty of their voices.
We believe that when children are given space to shine, they’ll surprise us with what they can do. Who knows what amazing talents will blossom next? At TKK PENABUR Gading Serpong, every voice matters, and every child is given the chance to be heard.
