Greedy Palace
King Mardy Gold was famous as a greedy king. He asked his people to pay more taxes for many activities they do in his kingdom. He has a chamber to keep his gold which he got from the taxes. Nobody could enter this chamber except him. Everyday King Mardy Gold got into his chamber to count and polish his gold. He could do it for hours.
This morning King Mardy Gold couldn’t find the key to his gold chamber. He searched everywhere but still he couldn’t find it. Because of this he had suspicion that somebody in the castle had stolen it. Immediately he called everybody in the castle, from his own family members, the knights, maids, butlers, and even his gardener to the throne room.
“Which one of you stole it?” he asked, with anger showing in his eyes and tone.
All of the people in the room could only be shocked in confusion, they knew that if the king summoned them with anger like this that means that the king has lost the key to his one and only gold chamber. Instantly the confusion turned into Greed. They could only think of what they would get by catching the thief or even getting the keys for themselves.
The first person who came forward to talked is the king's adviser he said “Oh my king, can you tell me the last time you saw it,”
The king tried to remember the last place he saw the keys. “The Last time I saw the keys was in my room beside my bed,” he said. Immediately he glared at his wife the only person who slept in the room with him
Like the speed of light the queen instantly denied the suspicion. “It’s not me, I didn’t steal the keys” She replied “The head maid is also there, she cleans the room when you are taking a bath. If you ask me it must be her who stole it.”
The gazes have shifted toward the head maid. With panic she again denied the allegations. “It is not me your majesty, yes i have cleaned the room but before i came into the room i saw your highness personal butler and the princess came into the room before i cleaned it.”
“Excuse me, I did come into the room but I immediately left when I saw nobody’s there,” said the princess with an arrogant tone “in fact, when I got out of the room the butler hadn't come out yet.”
The butler with a confident voice “I beg the differ, I came in and stayed because I saw the head knight go inside the room and never came out”. This statement looks weird in hindsight but the butler's eyesight and honesty is amazing.
“I didn’t do it,“ Replied The head knight. The head knight is not the brightest and has really bad patience but he is crazily strong. He could fight alone in a war and still won.
“But, you are the last person who came out, sir.” The adviser said with a sly face “I bet you are lying to the king. what should we do to him, everyone?”
“Search and execute him for stealing our king's possession!” In unity they all said this and King Mardy Gold seemed to be satisfied with this decision. He thinks that he could come back polishing and counting his gold. But at the last second
“I DIDN’T DO IT!” The head knight yelled in a really big voice. He immediately pulled out the greatsword in his back and started to slash everyone in the room. Of course this is really scary because no one in the room could hope to stop him from rampaging. One by one people started to run for their lives but most of them failed.
After hours of massacre in the end everyone in the room died except the head knight and a gardener. When it was time for the last strike the head knight fell to the ground and mysteriously died. “The poison finally worked,” said the gardener. Not long later a mice came in and brought a key into the gardener's hand. “Good work buddy, now we could give this back to the people.” he patted the mice and walked to the city. “Really, this place is full of greedy people”
