Animation Masterclass was an animation masterclass provided by SMPK 4 Penabur Jakarta for Bilingual students, especially those who join Graphic Design, to learn about animation-making with the software Krita. It was taught by a teacher outside of the school. The masterclass was divided into three sub-topics, pre-production, production, and after-production, to ensure students can learn the process of making an animation. It was held on April 4, 11, and 18 at 02:00 PM-04:00 PM.
On the first meeting, we got to know what was pre-production in animation. The teacher explained the history of animation and the amount of work that goes behind modern animation (movies, art, anime, etc.). Such as a storyboard in real case, 2D animation production pipeline, and the software for pre-production until production. The teacher also showed us the 12 Animation Principal, Frame by Frame Animation, Cut-out Animation, and introduced us to the basics of the animation software, Krita.
On the second meeting, the teacher explained about the production process. We learned how to make a simple frame animation with a drawing.
On the third and final meeting, we got to know about the after-production process. We also learned a more complicated animation and the final edits of an animation.
Overall, it was a beneficial animation masterclass; we could know about animation and enrich our skill.
