CALANTHA GLYNIS PAN DURDIN, 1st WINNER GAME APPLICATION COMPETITION of CREATIVE IDEA (GACCI) 2023

Hello, you may not know me, so let me tell my story. My name is Calantha Glynis Pan Durdin, but people call me Glynis. I'm 16 years old and 11th grade science major from SMAK TIRTAMARTA BPK PENABUR and on the 15th of October, I won the Game Application Competition of Creative Idea also know as GACCI 2023.
I first heard of GACCI when I attended BINUS University's Edufair about a month ago on September 16th. The people of the Game Applications and Technology major informed me of the competition. The point of the competition was to create an idea for a video game. The concept had to be written down in an online document, completed with artwork and pictures for the game. Participants also had to present their documents live as their final round. From that point on I had two weeks to complete my document.
I think what drove me to keep on going for those two weeks was the thought of making my mother proud. To win in a competition that was hosted by my dream university, that would have made both of us happiest people in the world. For me, personally, the competition was very fun to do. I was challenged to create and conceptualize my own ideas.
When I made it to the finals, it was my mother who taught me how to present my ideas. She would test me every day and build my confidence up and up through the sky. She was the one who prayed for me and supported me. When the day came for me to present my game, it was my mother who drove me to the campus, who reassured me, who accompained me until night time.
At round 5 o'clock in the afternoon, the time for awarding finally came. Intimidated from the slideshows of the other finalists, I was sure I wouldn't make it. Yet, when my name announced as the gold medalist, my mother's cheers, I was the happiest I had ever been. I felt proud and grateful, for the both myself and my mother.
I think my experience had a lesson in it as well. That with passion and hard work, along with just a pinch of confidence, you can accomplish anything you set your heart to. I believe that if someone like me could do that, then you could as well.
