The first BAZONE x Smukiez Olympic event kicked off on the 15th of December, 2022. The theme was 'INTO THE UNKNOWN', which is a song from the popular film 'FROZEN 2'. Starting off with the opening ceremony, which included performances from many clubs in SMAK 1 PENABUR. The performances include a collaboration between Smukiez Youth Chamber and Smukiez Choir, stages from MASK and also SEREN1TY.
After the ceremony, students gathered at the sports field in which various bazaar stands from students were put up and games took place. Each class took part in the bazaar, selling various foods, beverages, and items. There were stands selling burgers, milk teas, snacks, and even some of them had a photobooth area! Students could freely roam the area and buy the things being sold by trading cash to coupons. Besides the bazaar, there were also competitions between classes; table tennis, basketball, dance, and volleyball. Students competing in table tennis, basketball, and volleyball showed off their skills during the game, while students in dance showed off their creativity in choreographing and costume making. Other students who did not participate in the games gave support to their competing classmates.
The first day ended after 4 hours of the events (not including the opening ceremony), students closed up their stands and returned home after an exciting day.
16th of December 2022, the second day started with a performance from SMAK 1 PENABUR's official choir, Smukiez Choir, performing Reflection from Mulan, composed by Andrew Sebastian of Smukiez Youth Chamber.
After the show, the bazaar and competitions continued. Stands opened for the last day and students were as excited to buy and sell for 3 hours. Meanwhile, the competitions were getting more heated as the final rounds approached. The students weren't the only ones competing, the teachers also did! Two special volleyball rounds were held for the teachers. The first round was teachers versus student council members, won by the teachers by 25:12. The second round was teachers versus 12 SOS 2 (the winner of the volleyball category), this round was once again won by the teachers with a score of 25:18. Students and teachers gathered to watch these rounds, it was really fun to watch their interactions outside the classroom.
The closing ceremony was also very interesting, with a talk show by one of SMAK 1's alumni and founder of Kokumi, Superwings, and Poopoo Ice Cream, Jacqueline Karina. The students showed active participation as many questions were asked; not a surprise, because the talk show was very insightful. After the talk show, a performance was presented from F1RST, SMAK 1's modern dance team, which ended with a bow from the 12th grade members. BAZONE x Smukiez Olympic became the final stages for the 12th grade members of SMAK 1 PENABUR's performance clubs. The final agenda was to announce the winners, with 11 MIPA 7 coming out victorious as the overall winner.
The two day event finally came to an end. The committee worked hard for the event to progress smoothly. Applause to all the participants of this event, thank you for all your hard work. The goal of this event is to train students on entrepreneurship, and I think the goal has been achieved. I hope to see this event again next year, even though I'll already be an alumni of SMAK 1 PENABUR.
