Pojok Best : Amidst the Evil Days

Imagine you are trapped in a vast, pitch-black cave, with a limited amount of food, no sense of time, and no idea where to go. You can only see your feet and the small path surrounding them. In this uncertainty, you make do with whatever you find. Every small glimpse of light or sound becomes crucial. In order to return safely, you need to start with small steps and think about the best strategies to overcome your situations so that you don’t waste resources you have. This situation is similar to our current days, where we face uncertainty and limited resources. The Apostle Paul, while he was in prison in Rome, reminded the Ephisians a clear instruction regarding Christian’s use of time. In Ephesians 5 : 15-16, Paul wrote “Be very careful, then, how you live-not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.” While we live in evil days, making wise decisions is crucial to staying on the right path. But what are these wise decisions? The way we choose kindness over anger is one example. Practicing honesty, serving others, being a peacemaker and forgiving others, are some others. Whereas the other principles are mentioned in the Scripture.
We do so to shine the light of Christ. Even a small daily step can make a big difference. As it was once said, “If you don’t know your final destination but you know your next step, you are safe.” Start taking wise and careful steps from now on.
