What Do They Say About Distance Learning?

MY  EXPERIENCE OF ONLINE CLASS

Hi everyone. Before I tell you about my experience let me introduce myself. My name is Celine Regina from grade 11 at SMK FARMASI BPK PENABUR JAKARTA. Since march, we all can only stay at home because of Covid-19. We just stay at home including studying at home.

When I heard announcement from my teacher about studying at home I was happy that I didn't have to go to school early in the morning, didn't have to come home until late in the evening. Until today, I have been studying from home for 9 months. I felt a little bored with this online learning because I only stare at the laptop everyday. 

I feel there are some teachers who I don’t understand the way they explain but I’m sure the teachers have done their best and I appreciate it . So, as a student, I must also actively ask questions when I don’t understand so that the collaboration in distance learning runs well.

We also have some events like flag ceremony, monthly worship, bina iman, and character camp. Dear all I want to tell you just stay at home, eat healthy food and stay healthy !

EXPERIENCE OF TAKING ONLINE SCHOOL

Online classes in today's society are widely used in schools to provide easy access to school materials, classroom discussions, and interaction to the teachers. The materials and activities of the classes can be accessed from a computer, laptop, or handphone with internet access, whether from the school or from family facilities.

In my opinion, online class is a lot of fun. I don't have the teachers and classmates interaction, but I can talk to them at any time by whatsapp or email my teachers or my classmates. It encourages me a lot to find more ideas for my tasks. 

Online school offer a discussion board to share google classroom posts to fellow students. I also learned that by exploring each other's ideas, we are in turn challenging each other to analyze our own thoughts. This makes our class quite interesting as we get a chance to improve our teamwork and learn the materials online. Not only give students some assignments and projects, but also hold activities such as online worship, character camp, and many more activities that prevent us against getting too tired of this online school and lockdown situation.

MY EXPERIENCE OF TAKING ONLINE SCHOOL

At first I was rather skeptical when I heard that we’re going to do school online for this year. I was just so used to the idea of going to school and talking to my friends and teachers face to face, and I’m not really sure that learning from home would be effective since our teachers can’t really see what we’re actually doing when they’re giving us a lecture. 

But when school started, I realized that online school is actually very beneficial for both students and teachers. Of course, it has its pros and cons. By doing online school, you don’t have to worry about getting infected by the virus or worry about how you are going to get to school since you only need to stay at home and use whatever devices you have to do it. But it gets pretty tricky when we have to do things like practical exams. We have to position our cameras at the right angle, and in my opinion it’s much easier to do those kinds of things when you’re in an actual classroom with the teacher and other students. And it can be super awkward when our parents or siblings have to pass by the camera when we’re in class.

ONLINE SCHOOL LEARNING

Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) has forced millions of schools in the world to decide to undertake Distance Learning (PJJ).

Likewise, the Indonesian government has decided to implement PJJ starting from Early Childhood Education (PAUD), Kindergarten (TK), Elementary School (SD), Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI), Junior High School (SMP), Madrasah Tsanawiyah, School Senior High School (SMA), Madrasah Aliyah (MA), Vocational High School (SMK) and also Universities.

Recently, the Distance Learning (PJJ) model, although it is intended as the most effective way to prevent transmission of COVID-19, at least this PJJ model has caused various reactions and problems for the community. First, PJJ provides additional tasks for parents to prepare all learning devices and media such as gadgets, laptops, personal computers, internet networks or internet data quota. Second, PJJ also requires schools to adopt various Management Information Systems (MIS) by using the support of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to support an effective and efficient Distance Learning (PJJ) model.

During this difficult time we must be able to take the positive side, and we must be more disciplined. Each of us can answer questions about how PJJ is and how long. The more patient and able we are to hold back and be able to apply new habits in managing life, maintaining fitness, immunity and health by remaining disciplined in applying new customs according to health protocols for the prevention of COVID-19, the faster the process of implementing on-site or face-to-face learning models face to face and direct interaction is done.

My Experience

      Hi everyone! I’m Joanne from grade 11, I’m going to tell you guys my experience during this distance learning that we called PJJ . To be honest , I like PJJ more than offline school , why ? because I don’t have to wake up earlier and take a public transportation that make me really tired during school . However , PJJ is more boring and a little bit complicated with the internet.  I like it when it comes to break time , we can laying in the bed as much as we want during PJJ , but that’s a little dangerous  because we can missed the next class and slept away. One day when  I’m attending a seminar , I got really really bored and sleepy , so I lay on my bed just to rest a minute and yeah as u guys expected I slept away, I’m panic when I wake up because the seminar is almost done ,and  I already slept for an hour!
