The One That Got Away
Samantha and Christopher grew up together in a small orphanage. They liked to help each other and shared things and food too. As they grew older, they had to leave the orphanage and find a job to support their lives. Christopher got a job in a big company whether Samantha worked for a florist.
One day, while Samantha was decorating flowers, the doorbell rang. A beautiful woman and a gentleman got into the shop. “How can I help you……?” Samantha greeted them and was really surprised to know that the gentleman was Christopher.
He looked just as shocked as Samantha. It was like she had seen a ghost, to be honest their whole childhood Samantha secretly had feelings for Christopher but she never did anything about it in fear of ruining their friendship, then he left and it was too late. She had been trying to find him for a long time but she never succeeded.
“I can’t believe it after all this time!” Christopher said, then he explained to the beautiful lady that it was Samantha, his best friend from the orphanage. The beautiful lady smiled towards Samantha “So you must be Samantha! my name is Rose, Christopher had been telling me stories about you” Rose said, “You should come to the wedding” she added. That sentence almost choked Samantha to death, “the wedding?” Samantha carefully asked. Christopher and Rose told Samantha that they are getting married in two days,
then Rose pulled out an invitation from her purse. Samantha felt heartbroken.
“Well then congratulations to the happy couple, what can I get you?” Samantha asked awkwardly. “Can I get that beautiful bouquet for this lovely lady?” Christopher said as he pointed to a bouquet that was on display. Samantha nodded, and went to grab that bouquet, after receiving that bouquet, the couple left for their wedding rehearsal. She felt sad and regretted that she never said anything to him. She stared at the window as she wondered what would have happened if she had told him her feelings back then.
Two days had passed by and it was the day of the wedding, the night before that Samantha had fantasized about how she would confess to Christopher and they would run away together, but when she saw Christopher’s eyes as Rose walked down the aisle she knew she had to let him go. She was so out of focus at that wedding that she bumped into someone. When she looked up it was a very charming man, she later found out that it was Rose’s brother. They both laughed and the whole night they only talked to each other, he was so perfect and similar to Samantha. She didn’t know back then but the day that she thought would be the worst day of her life was actually the day that she met the love of her life. Samantha realized that when a door closes there will always be another door waiting to be opened
