The Dual Certificate Programme - Cambridge Lower Secondary

We live in a time of rapid change for the first time in history. The education of students must be adaptive to this dynamic and ever-changing world and for this reason, schools must place the students and learning system at the seat of one's deepest thoughts and feelings.

The DCP (Dual Certificate Programme) of SMPK 1 connects to the core principles of national and Cambridge curriculum. These give students the opportunity develop critical thinking about complex global issues in the safe space of the classroom. As students connect their learning to the real-world, they are encouraged to explore, develop and express their own values and opinions, while listening to and respecting other people's point of view.

At SMPK 1 BPK Penabur Bandung, we are offering the Cambridge Lower Secondary award for 7-8 graders who complete the Cambridge Checkpoint programme, providing solid foundation to the Upper Secondary IGCSE programme in Grade 9-10.

Lower Secondary students take all required core and non-core (local) subjects. All students in Grade 8 will take the three (3) Cambridge Checkpoint exams (English, Math, Science), while students will sit for the IGCSE exams at Grade 10 in SMAK 1 BPK Penabur Bandung.

BPK Penabur Bandung is an authorised Cambridge International Centre implementing the Cambridge Lower Secondary Programme and Cambridge IGCSE which stands for ‘International General Certificate of Secondary Education’.
