English Day Profile of SMK Farmasi

I . INTRODUCTION

English day program at SMK Farmasi BPK PENABUR is held twice a week on Tuesday and Thursday. This program is conducted to bridge between the theory in the classroom with its application daily activities. This program involves all of stakeholder in school such as: principal, vice principals, teachers, staff, students, office boy and girls and securities.  Our English day is a media of communication for all of stakeholders in our school. Our English day is designed to make student comfort to practice their English as good as possible.

The involvement of all stakeholder is expected to activate English Day Program in every Tuesday and Thursday. To increase the frequency of speaking between all of stakeholder during the English Day, each of stakeholders is requested to speak English in and out of classroom. For morning reflection each of teacher has a schedule as a participant to share her/his experience refer to theme according to the bible at that day.

To stimulate students to speak English during the English Day, there will be conducted English Day Competition at SMK Farmasi BPK PENABUR. The participants are grade X, XI and XII. Beside of that, our English Day programs are integrated in school programs, like in learning process, student council program, open school programs, and another events that is held at school. To enlarge and to echo our English Day program, we promote the programs in social  media, like facebook and instagram.

Along  the first and second semester , English Day in each class will be monitored by assessor team every week by using assessment form and it will be announced the best class monthly. The biggest accumulation score in the end of semester will be the winner. 

We believe through English Day program  all stakeholder in SMK Farmasi have become accustomed and more fluent in using English.

1. PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

1. All of stakeholder in SMK Farmasi BPK PENABUR are able to use English in daily activities at school.
2. To grow awareness among the stakeholders that English is a tool to reach many purposes in the future.
3. To eliminate  mental barriers among stakeholder refer to English difficulties  by relax speaking in English day.
4. To improve ability of student in English to face semester test and national examination.
5. To encourage students of SMKF to practice their English with their friends.

III. TARGETS

Principal : Able to communicate his/her idea in English to all of teacher both oral and written.

Vice Principal : Able to communicate his/her program and explain it in good English

Teachers : Able to communicate his/her teaching material in Indonesia and English (bilingual) in  front of  class

Staff : Able to use English in Library and office

Students : Able to use English in many situations in daily live

Office boys : To take in charge in supporting our English day

Securities : Able to use English refer to school security
