As the night fell, the school gathered on the 8th floor for SMUKIEZ ART PERFORMANCE (abbreviated as SAP). This year’s SAP, which was known previously as STN (Smukiez Theatre Night), was held on Friday, October 4th 2024. The performance started at around 6.30 PM, just before SNM (Smukiez Night Market) ended. 5 branches of art were displayed in this show: vocal art, musical art, drama, dance, and painting.
As the audience entered through the lobby and into the hall, they could see many paintings which were made by SMAK 1 students and even alumni. These paintings were auctioned online using a website made previously by the committee. There was also a photobooth at the lobby, which was quite popular.
The show started with Smukiez Guitar Ensemble, playing two songs. One from Beethoven and the other from Bee Gees. After that, it was time for SYC (Smukiez Youth Chamber). They played 3 songs. The first one is from a popular Thai movie called “How to Make Millions before Grandma Dies”. The second is from a video game called Honkai while the third song was “Laskar Pelangi”. Before the drama starts, there was a short speech from the principal and a 10 minute toilet break.
The drama started just after 7 PM. It was quite a long drama, consisting of 10 acts. It started with a performance from Cressendo and Smukiez Choir. The story of the drama revolved around Laras, a girl trying to get a better life by illegally freeing up land. Of course, her father hated her job and rejected every gift given to him by Laras which was bought using dirty money. One day, Laras was assigned to take over her own village. Laras rejected but she had to tell everyone what she had actually been doing and it angered the whole village. After she apologized, the village banded together to protect the village. By the help of a police officer disguised as a homeless man, they successfully captured the perpetrators. During the drama, there was also some choreos from Serenity and First.
After the drama, there was another performance from Cressendo and Smukiez Choir, bringing Yura Yunita’s 2018 song “Merakit”. Finally, it was time for the curtain call. All of the performers and committee members were called to the stage. The night ended with a joint performance by Cressendo and Smukiez Choir singing “Merakit” by Yura Yunita once again along with the other performers and committee members.
