This June felt truly different, marked by joyful cheers and resounding applause echoing through the halls of SMAK 1. On June 9th, 2025, Division 1 of the SMUKIE Student Council held the first Praise and Bound – a worship event unlike any the students had experienced before. With its unique atmosphere and refreshing concept, it brought a new depth of meaning to school worship, leaving a lasting impression on everyone who attended.
With “Jesus is Center” as this year’s theme, everything revolved around that, starting from the opening worship song led by the Servant of God. The atmosphere was instantly lifted, setting the tone and raising our spirits for what was to come. As the worship songs came to an end, the lights suddenly went out, revealing the surprise performance MASK had been preparing. The play told the story of Saul, who encountered Jesus and was transformed into Paul, a true believer. You might’ve thought that already captured all students’ full attention, but the surprise didn't end there. The guest star, Yeshua Abraham, took the stage and captivated everyone with his mesmerizing voice, singing “Terhubung” and “Pulang”, and sharing a short insight that touched everyone’s hearts.
After that session, the sermon began, delivered by Pastor Indra Kurniadi. His message was easily grasped by the teenagers in the room, as he used relatable language and familiar terms, making the sermon's meaning clear and impactful. To end the event, a final worship song was sung, bringing Praise and Bound to a warm and meaningful close.
