Walking Together

On Tuesday morning, 31 August 2021, all teachers and students of SMAK 1 PENABUR Jakarta joined a devotional service served by Rev. Sthira Budi. The whole service, themed Walking Together, was conducted in English, including the songs and the sermon.
The service had been recorded separately by the singers and music players days before. Although the recordings were not done in the same time, they all finally became very harmonious in the final video.
As stated in 1 Kings 5:13-18 & Phil 2:1-4, the message of the sermon reminded all the participants to respect other people. Living side by side with other people means that we need to respect them without boasting about the things that we have got.
Often, in the school life situation, competitions occur among students. The tough competitions might result selfishness and ignorance but it is not the character that Christian school students should reflect in their life. The achievements and all things that have been gained should not be used to exclude ourselves from the society. Instead, we are urged to live humbly and care for other people around us.
May the message be internalized by all the students and teachers so that SMAK 1 PENABUR Jakarta can imitate the Christ’s humility and can spread kindness to anybody. (rs)
