Kondisi habitat alami hewan semakin hilang yang disebabkan karena pertumbuhan kota-kota besar semakin meningkat. Sehingga banyak hewan kehilangan tempat tinggal. Karena hewan-hewan tersebut kehilangan tempat tinggal, maka persaingan mendapatkan makananpun semakin ketat. Tidak sedikit dari hewan-hewan tersebut mati karena kelaparan. Selama in manusia tidak hanya berburu untuk melanjutkan kepentingan hidupnya saja, tetapi banyak juga perburuan yang dilakukan untuk hobi atau kesenangan semata saja.
Bahkan hasil perburuan sering dijadikan koleksi oleh para pemburu.
