Listening with our full attention is a gift we give to those around us. We're appreciating the unique, different texture and volume each sound makes. But, we often hear those sounds without actually listening to them. This includes when other speaks to us. Not only that, we also foolishly ignore a real and precious connection with the living things by feverishly hanging on to our phones.
Vision is the art of seeing what is invisble to the others. We, as human beings, have the perfect tools to see, our eyes. The only thing we nees to do is use them properly. For example, if we're looking on a painting, we should see the lines, strokes, and whirls made by the brushes on the canvas. Let yourself flow into the story of the painting itself. By doing that, it will teach us more about how our mind works and the way we've been viewing the world.
These days, we really enjoy multi-tasking. Before we know that we are busy, the day ends, the week is over, a new month is coming up, and the new year begins. To pay attention to one particular thing seems to get more and more difficult as there seems to also be more and more things that demand our attention. In being so busy, we sometimes lose an opportunity to experience a moment which is more enjoyable.
All of this help us to reflect on how much time we've been using our gadgets.
