This book is a litteral masterpiece. It contains the prehistory until the modern day history decorated with unique illustration. As for me, there's 2 chapter that is catchy.
The Phoenicians
The Phoenicians were a seafarer who were known for their trade and alphabeth. They voyage as far as the Atlantic Ocean and built a colony in Carthage in North Africa. To help them trading goods with people who spoke different languages, they made an alphabeth of 22 characters. Later on, this alphabet adopted by the Greeks and then the Romans, who created the today's alphabeth.
The Renaissance
Renassance well known for the art. Renaissance itself means "rebirth" of Greeks and Romans culture. Some of the wealthiest family (Cosimo De'Medici) became patrons of the arts and promoted the study of the classics. Many famous artists and Poets that we know lived in this time, such as Michael Angelo, Leonardo Davinci, and William shakespeare. Renaissance also emphasized the importance of what they called "carpe diem" or seize the day. Secularism and humanism flourish in this time.
