There was an old man called Mr Hoppy. He lived alone in a small flat. He is a very shy man, he never been able to told the lady below his flat, Mrs Silver, how much he adored her. Mrs. Silver had a small tortoise, Alfie. She has been taking care of it with all her heart, it makes Mr Hoppy jealous.
One bright morning, Mrs Silver told him that she wished for Alfie to grow bigger. Mr Hoppy saw his chance and gave Mrs Silver some magic words to help Alfie grow. Of course, it wouldn’t work. So, Mr Hoppy rushed to buy many tortoises.
Every afternoon of the seventh day, Mr Hoppy would swapped tortoise with two ounces more weighed tortoise. It happened until 8 times. Mrs Silver told him that her tortoise, the 8th tortoise, was too big to fit inside his house. Again, he gave Mrs Silver some magic words then swapped the tortoise to a smaller tortoise the next afternoon.
Mrs Silver was overjoyed to see her tortoise had grown smaller. She thanked Mr Hoppy and invited him to saw her tortoise. With excitement, Mr Hoppy purposed to her and the two of them lived very happily ever after.
