Merdeka, merdeka, merdeka!
The enthusiastic shouts of the children could be heard as they listened attentively to the speech by the ceremony leader during the celebration of Indonesia's Independence Day on August 19, 2024. Clad in red and white attire, students from toddlers through K2 assembled at the school to partake in the festivities.
The day commenced at 8:30 AM with a group photo on the basketball court, followed by a formal ceremony. During the ceremony, the children actively engaged in various roles: Wesley from K2 served as the protocol, Melvino and Aletha from K1 read the Pancasila and conducted the proceedings, Violet from Preschool presented the BPK PENABUR Vision and Mission text, and Jane from Toddler carried the Proclamation text.
Following the ceremony, the children took a brief respite to enjoy their snacks. They then proceeded to participate in level-specific competitions. Toddlers, preschoolers, and K2 students competed on the basketball court, while K1 students competed in the school lobby. The toddlers participated in a flag relay race, preschoolers balanced red and white balls on spoons, K1 students aimed to throw balls into baskets, and K2 students maneuvered pencils into containers using strings attached to their waists.
The competitions were vibrant, highlighting the children’s teamwork and enthusiasm. At the end of the event, winners at each level were awarded medals. Additionally, the teacher announced winners of a video reel contest involving both the children and their parents. The children received their prizes with great excitement, and those who did not win were encouraged to maintain their enthusiasm and positivity.
