At SMP Nasional Plus BPK PENABUR Bogor, we believe that a strong foundation is key to academic success and personal growth. As the new academic year 2024/2025 begins, our school proudly hosted a comprehensive Student Orientation Program designed to warmly welcome and guide our new students into this exciting chapter of their educational journey.
A Thoughtful Start to the Year
The orientation program started with a pre-event on Friday, July 12, 2024. During this session, our new students received valuable information about the upcoming activities, the objectives of the orientation, and this year’s theme: ECCLESIA DOMESTICA, ECCLESIA SCHOLA—translated into Bahasa Indonesia as "Cerdas dan Beriman di Rumah dan Sekolah." This theme reflects our commitment to nurturing students' intellectual growth and spiritual development at home and school.
A Holistic Approach to Education
SMP Nasional Plus BPK PENABUR Bogor, rooted in Christian values, opened the three-day orientation program (July 15-17, 2024) with a Morning Devotion. This reflective time allowed students to begin their day focusing on their faith, setting a tone of humility, gratitude, and purpose. We believe that building Christian character from the very first day at our school lays a strong moral foundation that guides our students throughout their lives.
Our commitment to fostering a sense of national pride was also evident as we played **Indonesia Raya** before each day's activities began. This practice instills a love for our country and reminds students of their role as future leaders and responsible citizens of Indonesia.
Preparing for Success
The Student Orientation is a pivotal event that introduces students to the school environment, equalizes perceptions, and mentally prepares them for the higher level of learning they will encounter. It is also an opportunity for us to align with the educational goals outlined by the government in the Minister of National Education Regulation Number 18 of 2016, ensuring that our students are fully prepared to meet their academic and personal responsibilities.
Through a carefully planned series of activities, new students learned about the school's culture, met their peers, teachers, and staff, and were introduced to the various facilities and programs that SMP Nasional Plus BPK PENABUR Bogor offers. This included meeting upperclassmen and educators, exploring extracurricular activities, and understanding the available facilities.
Building Resilience, Discipline, and Brotherhood
One key aspect of the orientation program is its role in building mental resilience and discipline among students. By working closely with the student council, which led the groups during the activities, new students were able to develop their communication and group management skills—critical competencies for success both inside and outside the classroom.
Moreover, the orientation fosters a strong sense of community and brotherhood, essential in creating a supportive and nurturing environment where every student can thrive.
